It knits up at a lighter gauge than its heavyweight counterpart, so for items that will get a good bit of wear (i.e. bags) we recommend a carry-along yarn such as nettle or nylon. Knitting it along with a strand of non-superwash wool and felting creates a fabulous texture. The base for this sari ribbon is made from substantial silk farics and can also be knit as-is to make items that need durability: bags, pillows, etc., and makes a fabulous fringe.
