SATSUMA CANDLE A familiar winter fruit, preserved in wax. Hand-poured and carefully finished, our Satsuma Candle captures the softly dimpled skin, flattened form and small imperfections of the fruit itself. Its vivid shape brings a quiet point of colour to the table, shelf or winter gathering. Known in Japan as unshū mikan, the satsuma has been cultivated there for centuries and became woven into the rituals of the colder months, peeled and shared at home as winter drew in. Its English name comes from the former Satsuma Province in southern Japan, from where the fruit was first exported to the West. Unscented to preserve the atmosphere around it, this sculptural candle is a small study of nature, history and the beauty held within an ordinary object. Satsuma - 4.5x6.3x6.3cm - 101g Natural Wax Blend,Eco Dye,Eco Candle Gloss,Organic Cotton Wick.Unscented. FRAGILE - Please remember that natural wax is a soft and delicate material, so some imperfections may be present on the surface. Natural waxes will 'bloom', this is a natural reaction to the environment which means the candle may appear 'dusty'. This is very easy to remove with a warm hand or quick blast with a hairdryer. H&S - Candle safety; - NEVER leave a burning candle unattended.- Always put candles on a heat resistant surface, taper candles will need a stable, heat-resistant holder with a wide footprint to prevent them falling over.- Keep burning candles away from things that can catch fire (e.g. curtains, other fabrics, furniture, hair). Keep candles out of draughts. Don’t put under shelves (there should be at least one meter between a candle and any surface above it).- Candles should be kept out of reach of children and pets - consider where you place them in your home carefully.- Make sure to leave at least 10cm between two burning candles - candles like to 'jump' between each other.- Trim your wick when needed to maintain a height of 0.5cm.- Keep wax pool clear of matches and debris to prevent reignition.- Extinguish candles before moving them. Make sure candles are completely extinguished.- CANDLES ARE NOT FOOD, NOT TOYS AND SHOULD NEVER BE EATEN.
