The SC-50 is a great schooling bit for young horses, seasoned horses, or one that needs help staying responsive and collected without stepping into a lifter-style bit. The low rope noseband is attached directly to the bit, so when you pick up the rein, the noseband comes into play quickly for added nose control and a side-pull type feel. The rein setup helps encourage the horse to give to pressure, flex, and come back underneath himself, making it a useful option for schooling and tuning one up. It gives you more control and collection than a basic O-ring while still keeping a lighter, more direct feel.
