Woven in Japan with gold metallic threads, this Obi retains its original securing threads (red and white) and has not been opened for use. Laid the length of a dining table or alon g a sideboard, where the light catches the brocade differently by the hour. At approximately 440cm/173in, it's sized for 14-seat dining tables, giving a full, elegant drop at each end. The folding fans, pine tree, chrysanthemum, iris and willow tree on this Obi is centuries-old motif in Japanese design. Prosperity, steadfastness, longevity, strength and adaptability, respectively.
