Burn within sight at all times. Never use water to extinguish a candle. Doing so may cause hot wax to splatter and may damage or crack the container. Keep wicks centered, upright, and trimmed to 1/4 inch (7 mm) before each use. Never move a burning candle. Ensure the flame is extinguished, the wax has solidified, and the container has cooled completely before handling. Candle containers and tins may become hot during use. Always place candles on a stable, heat-resistant surface. Avoid burning candles in drafty areas or near open windows, air vents, fans, or other moving air sources.
