What Makes the Schecter Omen Elite-6 FR Special? The Omen Elite-6 FR takes the accessible Omen platform and adds specifications aimed squarely at the modern performance guitarist. A burl top over the mahogany body gives the Black Cherry Burst finish dramatic natural figuring, complemented by black binding and hardware. The Thin "C" maple neck, 14" fingerboard radius and 24 X-Jumbo frets create a streamlined playing surface for quick runs, wide bends, precise riffing and upper-register lead work. Its pair of Diamond Heretic humbuckers provides a strong, articulate response that remains defined under substantial gain, while the five-way pickup selector offers more tonal options than a conventional three-way dual-humbucker layout. The Floyd Rose Special ‘Hot Rod’ locking tremolo completes the package for players who want extensive pitch manipulation as part of their playing style. Who Is It For? The Schecter Omen Elite-6 FR is particularly well suited to guitarists who want a modern high-performance instrument with a double-locking tremolo and powerful passive pickups. It is an excellent choice for: Metal guitarists Hard-rock players Progressive musicians Alternative guitarists Lead players who use tremolo effects Rhythm players requiring clear high-gain tones Guitarists who prefer a Thin "C" neck Players wanting 24-fret access Intermediate and advancing musicians Gigging and home-recording guitarists Why Choose A Floyd Rose Equipped Guitar? A double-locking Floyd Rose tremolo allows considerably greater pitch movement than a traditional tremolo system. Because the strings are secured at both the bridge and locking nut, players can perform deep dive bombs, pitch raises, flutters and dramatic vibrato techniques while retaining excellent tuning stability when the guitar is correctly set up. This makes the Omen Elite-6 FR particularly attractive to players whose technique relies on expressive tremolo work. A Floyd Rose does require a slightly different approach to restringing and setup than a fixed bridge, but the additional creative range makes it an invaluable feature for many rock and metal guitarists. BCHB stands for Black Cherry Burst, the transparent burst finish used on this version of the Omen Elite-6 FR. What pickups are fitted? The guitar uses two Schecter Diamond Heretic humbuckers, providing powerful, articulate tones well suited to rock and heavier styles. Are the pickups active? No. The Diamond Heretic pickups are passive humbuckers, so they do not require a battery. Does the Omen Elite-6 FR have a Floyd Rose? Yes. It features a Schecter-exclusive Floyd Rose Special ‘Hot Rod’ Locking Tremolo. What can the Floyd Rose be used for? The double-locking system allows deep dive bombs, pitch raises, vibrato, flutters and other dramatic pitch effects that are difficult to achieve with a conventional fixed bridge. What is the body made from? The guitar features a mahogany body with a figured burl top, which is particularly prominent beneath the transparent Black Cherry Burst finish. What neck profile does it use? It has Schecter's Thin "C" neck profile, designed to provide a comfortable and streamlined feel for modern rhythm and lead playing. How many frets does it have? The Omen Elite-6 FR features 24 X-Jumbo frets, providing a full two-octave range on every string. What is the scale length? It uses a 25.5-inch scale length, providing a defined string response that works especially well for articulate riffing and lead playing. What fingerboard does it have? The guitar features a rosewood fingerboard with a 14" radius and Pearloid Line inlays. Does it have a five-way pickup selector? Yes. The two Diamond Heretic humbuckers are controlled through a five-way selector, providing additional tonal options beyond a conventional three-way HH setup. Is the Omen Elite-6 FR good for metal? Yes. The Diamond Heretic humbuckers, Thin "C" neck, 24-fret layout and Floyd Rose tremolo make it particularly well suited to metal, progressive, hard rock and other high-gain styles. Is this different from the standard Omen Elite-6? Yes. The key difference is the bridge. The standard Omen Elite-6 uses a fixed string-through hardtail bridge, while this FR version features a double-locking Floyd Rose tremolo. Is a Floyd Rose harder to restring? It requires a different restringing and setup process because the strings are locked at the bridge and nut. Once familiar with the system, routine maintenance becomes straightforward. Does it come with a hard case? No. The compatible Schecter SGR-1C C-Shape Hardcase is available separately. Why Buy From Fair Deal Music?
