What Makes the Schecter Omen Elite-6 FR Special? The Omen Elite-6 FR adds a more premium visual and performance specification to Schecter's established Omen platform. A maple burl top over the mahogany body gives the See-Thru Blue Burst finish natural figuring and depth, while black binding and hardware create a clean modern contrast. The Thin "C" maple neck, 14" fingerboard radius and 24 X-Jumbo frets provide the streamlined feel required for precise rhythm playing, wide bends and fast lead work. A pair of Schecter Diamond Heretic humbuckers supplies a powerful and articulate response that remains clear under substantial gain. Five-way pickup switching broadens the available sounds beyond a conventional HH layout, while the Floyd Rose Special ‘Hot Rod’ locking tremolo provides the pitch range required for expressive and aggressive tremolo techniques. Who Is It For? The Schecter Omen Elite-6 FR is particularly well suited to guitarists who want a modern performance guitar with powerful passive pickups and a full double-locking tremolo system. It is an excellent choice for: Metal guitarists Hard-rock players Progressive musicians Alternative guitarists Lead players who regularly use tremolo effects Rhythm players requiring articulate high-gain tones Guitarists who prefer a Thin "C" neck Players wanting 24-fret access Intermediate and advancing musicians Gigging and home-recording guitarists Why Choose A Floyd Rose Equipped Guitar? A double-locking Floyd Rose tremolo secures the strings at both the bridge and nut, allowing considerably more dramatic pitch manipulation than a conventional tremolo system. Players can perform deep dive bombs, upward pitch bends, flutters and aggressive vibrato effects while benefiting from the stability of a properly adjusted locking setup. For rock and metal guitarists who make tremolo work a major part of their playing style, this additional range can be invaluable. A Floyd Rose does require a slightly different approach to restringing and setup than a fixed bridge, but the creative possibilities are significantly greater. STBB stands for See-Thru Blue Burst, the transparent blue burst finish used on this version of the Omen Elite-6 FR. What pickups are fitted? The guitar features two Schecter Diamond Heretic humbuckers, designed to provide strong output and excellent definition for modern rock and heavier styles. Are the pickups active? No. The Diamond Heretic pickups are passive humbuckers, so no battery is required. Does the Omen Elite-6 FR have a Floyd Rose? Yes. It features a Schecter-exclusive Floyd Rose Special ‘Hot Rod’ locking tremolo. What can the Floyd Rose be used for? It allows deep dive bombs, upward pitch bends, flutters, vibrato and other dramatic tremolo effects while using a double-locking system. What is the body made from? The Omen Elite-6 FR uses a mahogany body with a maple burl top, giving the See-Thru Blue Burst finish attractive natural figuring. What neck profile does it use? It features Schecter's Thin "C" neck profile, designed for a streamlined modern feel across rhythm and lead playing. How many frets does it have? The guitar has 24 X-Jumbo frets, providing a full two-octave range on each string. What is the fingerboard radius? The rosewood fingerboard uses a 14-inch radius, creating a relatively flat playing surface suited to bends and modern lead techniques. What is the scale length? The Omen Elite-6 FR has a 25.5-inch scale length, offering a defined and responsive string feel. Does it have five-way pickup switching? Yes. Despite using two humbuckers, the guitar has a five-way selector, providing more tonal options than a basic three-way HH configuration. Is the Omen Elite-6 FR suitable for metal? Yes. Its Diamond Heretic humbuckers, Thin "C" neck, 24-fret layout and Floyd Rose tremolo make it particularly well suited to metal, hard rock and progressive styles. Can it handle cleaner sounds? Yes. The five-way switching expands the available tonal range, allowing cleaner and more articulate sounds alongside its high-gain strengths. How does it differ from the standard Omen Elite-6? The main difference is the bridge system. The standard Omen Elite-6 uses a fixed string-through hardtail bridge, while this FR model uses a double-locking Floyd Rose tremolo. Is a Floyd Rose harder to restring? It requires a different process because the strings are locked at the bridge and nut. Once familiar with the system, routine maintenance becomes straightforward. Does it come with a hard case? No. The compatible Schecter SGR-1C C-Shape Hardcase is available separately. Why Buy From Fair Deal Music?
