Schmetz 705 HDK Quick Threading Needles are universal needles with a small slit in the eye of the needle for threading effortlessly. These needles are beneficial for people who have difficulty threading their needles, such as those with vision problems, children, or trouble with fine motor coordination from arthritis. Quick Threading Needles, formerly known as self-threading or handicap needles, are not for use with sensitive fabrics, for example, silk, microfiber, or batting, as they may cause pulled threads. Due to the structure of these needles, they are not sturdy enough for sewing denim. Schmetz HDK Quick Threading Needles work in machines that use the 130/705H system needles. Most Schmetz Needles include two color-coded bands just below the shank. The top color indicates the type of needle, and the lower color indicates the size.
