Although the forward-facing face is looking bored and listening in a daze to th e teacher, the head peeping out from the back represents the mind and where the mind takes you. To further illustrate this there is a zip in the back, which is allowing a creature to come out, this is meant to be the mind itself and portrays itself completely differently to the forward-facing face.
