The fork stabilizer covers both forks bringing them to the proper width and displacing impact onto the ball evenly. It makes up for the slack in the forks and keeps you playing. You should still reach out to spooky and obtain a new shooter assembly. After a hundred games or more testing with this kit, the balls launch perfectly every single time. I have not seen a single fail since the installation. I recommend dialing the plunger power down between 60-80% after installation. Yes there are other stabilizers sold individually for far more money. I don't see the need to use more expensive carbon fiber or have a massive fork cover when a more sleek design will suffice.
