A sun-bleached skull lies half-buried in shifting sand, its hollow eye socket still glowing, as if some ember of memory or meaning refuses to go out. The cracks in the bone, the warm blaze of the sky, the subtle shadow of time — all speak to erosion, but not erasure. What’s gone is not forgotten. What once had breath still holds weight. This piece is about remnants: what endures after loss, and how silence can say more than sound ever could. It suggests that even in decay, there’s beauty. In emptiness, there’s presence. And in the desert’s dry hush, something still watches. Scorched Silence is both elegy and witness.
