Drawings were often done on location, from life -- though put through the filter of my own imagination. The pages were put togethere not chronologically, but with the intention of each spread being its own self-contained story -- as such, drawings on the same page may not be from the same time. I primarily use Posca Markers, Muji 0.5 Pens, Tombow Markers, and 0.5 Pentel Mechanical Pencils.Scribble Scribble Smudge Smudge is a 6" x 9" book, printed on birchwood and textured stock and perfect bound.Jonathan Chen is an artist-illustrator based in the San Francisco bay area who has worked for Netflix and Pixar.
