FAQS Since the filter cartridge is water resistant – can I leave it in the vacuum for cleaning up dirty water? Theoretically – yes. However, we do recommend to use the foam wet filter that comes with the SEA 50. It is easier to clean and dry. Is the filter bag water resistant, too? Yes, but: The filter material itself would not soften like paper does. The collar that forms the shape towards the stud inside where the filter bag will be attached to is made of carton. Humidity would not harm the filter bag, but we recommend to replace the filter bag, when it has become moist. Are there special maintenance topics to consider? Maintaining your SEA 50 is simple. If you are using the filter bags, and you feel the power is decreasing looking at the filter bag first is a good idea. Replace it, when it’s full. Note: Power decrease starts already before the filter bag is filled to the brim. Depending on the sort of dirt you are working on, you may have to replace it, before it’s completely filled (especially fine dust). Should you prefer to work without filter bags, the filter cartridge would have to do the full job. You can wash out our filter cartridges. However, very fine dust will stick to the filter material and a new cartridge becomes necessary. We recommend to use filter bags to take advantage of the 2-stage filtering for best filtration. Other than that: make sure all air guiding parts are not clogged. You will find more information in the owner’s manual. Can I use non - STIHL accessories? The conical 36 mm connector is an industry standard. When the desired accessory has the same diameter, it will likely fit. Note: the operator is entirely responsible for the use of non – STIHL accessories, as STIHL has no influence on the interaction between the SEA 50 and the accessory.
