The Story Behind This Artwork These little "Sea Pinks" grow all along the coast in the height of the summer. I painted them while they were in full bloom and contrasting beautifully with the yellow ochre lichen on the rocks with a backdrop of the beautiful blues of the Atlantic Ocean along the West Coast of Ireland. We were in lock down while I was conducting this painting en plein air and they brought such joy and colour to my heart that instead of feeling locked down , I felt alive & so lucky to have such beauty all around us hidden in plain sight.
