The media may be placed in any kind of filter, and is noticeably effective when used in a canister filter. The media is sufficiently large enough that no filter bag should be required for most applications. It works quite well in a variety of drip tray systems, but may find that the larger Seachem Pond Matrix is better suited for such applications.
