For me, the essence of European culture is the celebration of slow living, 'La Dolce Vita'. Leisure and food are often celebrated as the centrepiece of connection. Swedish Summer is my favourite and must include a 'Skaldjursfrossa', translating to 'seafood banquet'. I am lucky enough to have memories of afternoons by the lake, surrounded by friends, fresh food and wine basking in the last of the days sun. The whole moment is a warm embrace.
