The band was John Squire’s first project after leaving The Stone Roses, formed within a year of the split. The album reached number two on the UK Albums Chart and went gold, driven by the top ten single Blinded By The Sun and follow-up Love Is The Law. Produced by Tony Visconti — best known for his work with David Bowie and T. Rex — the record balances Squire’s guitar work with a broader palette including strings, mellotron, tambura, and theremin, all arranged and conducted by Visconti himself. Chris Helme handles lead vocals and acoustic guitar, with Stuart Fletcher on bass and Andy Watts on drums. The album also features violin from Lili Haydn and a co-writing credit from Liam Gallagher on Love Me And Leave Me. Mastered by Bob Ludwig.
