If you’re looking for a game that perfectly showcases the experimental grit of early Capcom, Section Z for the Famicom Disk System is a brilliant deep-dive. Unlike the straightforw ard arcade original, this 1987 FDS version was reimagined as a sprawling, non-linear adventure. You’ll navigate a massive subterranean fortress divided into 60 interconnected "sections," choosing your path and backtracking through the labyrinth to find power-ups and key items. It’s got that signature high-stakes Capcom difficulty, a pulsing 8-bit soundtrack, and a distinct sci-fi aesthetic that feels like a precursor to the Mega Man era. For collectors, the FDS version is the ultimate way to play, offering saved progress and a much deeper quest than the cartridge releases. Show more
