SedgeMaster Herbicide SedgeMaster Herbicide is a professional selective herbicide containing 75% halosulfuron-methyl for preemergence and postemergence control of labeled nutsedge, kyllinga, broadleaf weeds, and other difficult weeds in established turfgrass and noncrop sites. It is labeled for residential and commercial turf, golf courses, sports fields, landscaped areas, sod and turf seed farms, roadsides, rights-of-way, and other professional-use sites. SedgeMaster is an HRAC Group 2 sulfonylurea herbicide that inhibits acetolactate synthase (ALS), stopping susceptible weed growth soon after treatment. Yellow and purple nutsedge are best treated while actively growing, and complete control generally develops within 7 to 14 days depending on weed size, species, and growing conditions. Features & Benefits ✓ Contains 75% halosulfuron-methyl for selective nutsedge and broadleaf weed control ✓ Controls yellow nutsedge and purple nutsedge in established turfgrass ✓ Suppresses kyllinga species and controls additional labeled weeds in turf and noncrop sites ✓ HRAC Group 2 ALS-inhibiting chemistry provides a defined mode of action for rotation planning ✓ Selective use is labeled across residential, commercial, recreational, and institutional turf sites ✓ Water-dispersible granule formulation is supplied in a compact 1.33 oz package ✓ Spot and broadcast application options provide flexibility for localized or larger nutsedge infestations Labeled Use Sites SedgeMaster is labeled for established lawns, ornamental turfgrass, landscaped areas, commercial and residential turfgrass, golf courses, sports fields, public recreation areas, school grounds, sod or turf seed farms, residential property, cemeteries, airports, fairgrounds, race tracks, tennis courts, campgrounds, roadsides, rights-of-way, and landscaped areas containing established woody ornamentals. It may also be used on certain fallow noncrop areas, tank farms, lumberyards, fuel storage areas, and fence rows. Do not apply to golf course putting greens. Target Weeds SedgeMaster controls yellow nutsedge and purple nutsedge and suppresses kyllinga species in established turfgrass. The label also provides control or suppression of horsetail, common cocklebur, redroot pigweed, smooth pigweed, common ragweed, giant ragweed, sunflower, velvetleaf, and other labeled weeds depending on use site. Heavy nutsedge infestations may require sequential applications. Application Notes For turfgrass broadcast applications, apply 2/3 to 1 1/3 oz per acre after nutsedge reaches approximately the 3- to 8-leaf stage. Use the lower rate for light infestations and the higher labeled rate for heavier pressure. For spot treatments, mix 0.03 oz (0.9 g) in 1 to 2 gal of water to treat 1,000 sq ft. A second nutsedge treatment may be made 6 to 10 weeks after the initial application where regrowth or newly emerged nutsedge is present. Always include a nonionic surfactant in the spray mixture. For broadcast applications, use 0.25% to 0.5% NIS, equivalent to 1 to 2 qt per 100 gal of spray solution. For spot treatments, add 2 tsp (1/3 fl oz) of NIS per gal of water; the surfactant should contain at least 80% active material. Do not exceed 5 1/3 oz of product per acre per use season on turf, and follow all state-specific application limits. Avoid application to stressed turf or weeds, and keep people and pets off treated areas until the spray has dried. Always read and follow the complete product label.
