While the watchman is called away for duty, George stays alone with the watchman’s daughter, Andrea. George’s charm quickly wins over Andrea, and she succumbs to him that night. In the morning, George leaves, and later, Andrea discovers she’s pregnant. George, living a carefree life in the city and involved mainly with a married woman named Gilda, sends money to Andrea upon learning about the pregnancy. Andrea travels to the city for a secret childbirth, but tragically, the baby is stillborn. Later, she marries a man who had saved her from an assault. After giving her blood for a life-saving transfusion he needed, their lives intertwine. Eventually, Andrea and George cross paths again at a social event with her husband.
