Wash and dry your hands before catheterisation. Open the sterile catheter package according to the manufacturer's instructions. Self-Cath is not a pre-hydrated hydrophilic catheter. Follow the instructions provided by your healthcare professional regarding appropriate lubrication before insertion. Gently insert the catheter using the technique demonstrated by your healthcare professional until urine begins to flow. Allow the bladder to empty completely. When urine flow has stopped, slowly and gently withdraw the catheter. Dispose of the catheter after use. Use a new sterile catheter for every catheterisation.
