Neeka Aicken is a New Zealand trained and registered occupational therapist with 20 years' work experience. Now based in Southland New Zealand, she is working in private practice for Advantage South providing rehabilitation services under Accident Compensation Corporation and private insurance contracts. She has worked across a wide range of healthcare and education settings in Aotearoa New Zealand and the United Kingdom including mental health, addictions, paediatrics, tertiary education, community rehabilitation and specialist services making for a varied and interesting work life. Andrea Greer is the founder of Nurturing Relationships. She was the winner of the national NZ Social Worker's award for innovative practice in 2023 and the excellence for research in 2018. She has a masters in social work with distinction, endorsed in mental health practice from the University of Otago, NZ. In 2015, Andrea’s Trauma Responsive Care Model which she designed in her master's thesis was rolled out nationally in all residential group homes as the therapeutic model.of practice in Oranga Tamariki- the government department in NZ responsible for the wellbeing and safety of children. Andrea has spoken at International conferences and all over New Zealand. Andrea is a certified Synergetic Play Therapist and trained in EMDR, an evidence-based trauma therapy. She has over 18 years of practice-based experience with children, youth and their families impacted by trauma. She is passionate about using creative, playful & strengths based approaches to support tamariki to heal and thrive.
