For R6 and R7 motors, especially when you're attempting to find all the smoothness and torque you can get, we try many solutions to achieve the best result. One of the primary objectives we use is to make sure the rotor is perfectly centered in the magnetic field of the stator. With proper shimming we can move the rotor where it is 'happiest'. But sometimes when the rotor is centered, the rotor to sensor clearance is too large to guarantee a very good signal to the ESC. We have used this optional sensor when necessary for some time now. This optional sensor was the same color as the standard sensor board assembly. There were a few times I forgot about the optional sensor install and wondered why a rebuild required so much rework. Until I measured everything in the motor stack to find it needed the optional sensor! Going forward I made small marks on them and still missed the special sensor! Problem solved with the new batch. All optional Sensor Board Assemblies are now orange in color to positively identify them. Standard Sensor available by clicking HERE.
