The Sensus 143-08-021-02 Green Spring is a critical calibration component engineered for Sensus Model 143-80 and Model 143 RPC (Remote Pressure Control) service regulators. This precision-wound natural gas regulator spring provides a specific 6 to 14 inch Water Column (WC) outlet pressure range, allowing for accurate set-point adjustment in residential and light commercial meter sets. As an OEM Sensus replacement part, it ensures the internal relief valve and diaphragm assembly maintain proper tension for stable gas delivery and lock-up performance. Field technicians utilize the green color-coded spring to quickly verify the pressure rating during routine maintenance or when converting low-pressure gas regulators to meet higher appliance demands. Using genuine 143-08-021-02 components prevents erratic downstream pressure and ensures the regulator operates within its original factory specifications for gas pressure control. Key Benefits for Technicians: Precise Pressure Range: Calibrated specifically for 6-14" WC settings, ideal for standard and elevated pressure applications. Seamless Compatibility: Direct fit for the Sensus 143 series, ensuring the spring seat and valve stem align without friction. Rapid Identification: High-visibility green coating simplifies inventory management and field verification for RPC regulator applications. Industrial-Grade Casting: Built to withstand high cycle counts without losing tension, maintaining consistent outlet pressure regulation. Common Questions & Technical Considerations: Can this spring be used in a standard 143-8 regulator? Yes, while commonly used in Remote Pressure Control (RPC) configurations, this spring is compatible with standard 143-8 models requiring a 6" to 14" WC range. How do I adjust the pressure with the green spring installed? Adjustment is performed by turning the adjustment screw; however, if the desired set point is at the high end (14" WC), ensure the orifice size and inlet pressure are compatible to avoid boosting issues. What happens if I use a non-OEM spring? Non-OEM springs may lack the correct wire diameter or pitch, leading to erratic gas pressure regulation and potential failure to reach the required lock-up pressure.
