Foraged WeavingSunday, September 27, 11-2pmInstructor: Maria Luna Students will learn foundational weaving techniques including how to warp a loom, maintain proper tension, and create simple patterns on a branch loom. Weaving with foraged materials provides an immersion textures and colors from nature. Your instructor Maria Luna will provide stems, vines and other materials collected from her garden. Students are welcome to bring their own materials collected from nature as well. An array of colorful, textured, and unconventional yarns will be provided to capture the essence of the natural environment, and students may also choose from foraged materials. Students will leave with a unique hand woven wallhanging that captures the the astounding beauty of our natural word.
