The Sera Internal Filter L60 is an air-driven sponge filter designed for efficient aquarium filtration. Operating as a mammoth or airlift pump, it uses an air pump to push water through a hose into the standpipe. As air rises, it pulls aquarium water upward, which then filters back through a fine mesh sponge. This sponge offers an excellent surface for mechanical purification of the water. Additionally, the specially designed sponges harbor nitrifying bacteria crucial for breaking down pollutants. These filters are particularly suitable for nurturing larvae and young fish, protecting them from being sucked into standard filters due to their tiny size and unique swimming patterns.
