Romans 10:17 This word hearing means to think intently or meditate on. Jesus says he that has ears to hear, let him hear. Which means to listen attentively. Taking notes with pen and paper is still one of the most effective forms of listening. TAKING NOTESNo business man, lawyer, or college student would walk into a conference room, courtroom, or classroom without the necessary essentials for taking notes. Why then shouldn't believers take notes in church today? Most people within 24 hours will forget up to 80% of what the speaker said if not written down. The preacher gives us the scritp-ture, which is our spiritual medication from God and should be taken more than once on Sunday. Joshua 1:8 says to meditate day and night, which means several times throughout each day. That we would not be just informed, but transformed by the renewing of our mind.
