The handle of this spatula has been forged in the Crane Culinary workshop using time honoured blacksmithing techniques. Each one is made entirely by hand and hammer demonstrating a unique series of twists, finials and tapers. The Spatula blade is 3" wide and just over 4" long. It is made from 1095 high carbon spring steel, delicate enough to gently slide beneath a softly cooked egg and tough enough to work a shift at the grill. The copper rivets are hand hammered to create a jeweled appearance as well as provide an extremely tough fastener. *PLEASE NOTE- Each one of these spatulas is made entirely by hand, as a result please understand that each one will all be slightly different in terms of length, tightness of coils, twists etc. The dimensions given are a general size and may vary slightly. -This metal spatula will damage non-stick surfaces and will perform its best on barbeques, flat top grills, carbon steel, cast iron, or stainless steel pans, -This spatula is made from steel which can rust if not taken care of. If rust does form, it should be removed with a scotch brite pad before deeper pitting occurs. Since the blade is made from carbon steel, it will form a deep and unique patina after use and resist corrosion. The dark colour of the blade is a patina which has been forced to start the process and resist staining. Prior to assembling, the handle has been treated with pure beeswax, added at a high temperature which helps to resist corrosion.
