SETLIFE A two-weekend film production intensive for actors and emerging filmmakers (crew). SETLIFE is a hands-on, immersive workshop that gives participants real experience inside a working film-set environment while collaborating to create an original short film. You will learn the language, rhythm, responsibilities, and expectations of a professional production by actively doing the work—in front of the camera or behind it. Fall 2026 Schedule Optional online "How to Audition" workshop: Wednesday, September 9 · 7–9 p.m. (a skills workshop on auditioning — not an audition for SETLIFE itself, and open to all applicants) Production weekend one - hands-on Lecture: September 19–20 · Full days Production weekend two - making a short film: September 26–27 · Full days Location: Waterloo. Experience is welcome, but curiosity, commitment, and a collaborative spirit matter most. Application, Selection & Fees This workshop is selection-based to ensure a strong, balanced ensemble. All participants—actors and crew—apply by registering with a $50 + HST deposit and completing a short intake form. The $50 + HST deposit will be applied toward the total workshop fee (see pricing above). Participants who are selected will be invited to complete the remaining payment within 72 hours of acceptance.
