This beckoning cat was created by Chugai Toen, located in the Seto-yaki pottery region with over 1000 years of history, out of a desire to make beckoning cats feel more accessible. While the form is simple, the distinctive shape of the hand and the use of pottery and porcelain as materials allow for a wide variety of colour variations through glazing. This finish is possible only because it condenses the unique history and techniques of Seto, which are not found in other production areas. Show more
