Details This blanket pays homage to the craft of overshot weaving, brought to America by Scottish Weavers, many who settled in the tiny town of Seven Springs, North Carolina. The s quared pattern pays tribute to the intricate patterns of traditional coverlets, hand-loomed on a white warp in the four-harness overshot method. Weavers grew their own flax and cotton, and raised sheep for wool which was hand-carded and colored with natural dyes. Today, their Appalachian artistry is preserved in museums. 64 x 80 inches.
