The name is on the blade. Etched into the steel just above the heel: Sever Forever. A promise, or a warning, depending on who's holding it. At 293mm / 11.5", this is a blade that commands the room before it touches the board. The profile is long, straight, and purposeful, a slicer built for the kind of carving and serving that happens in full view, where the knife is as much the spectacle as what it cuts. Isaiah's superb convex bevel geometry and full-distal taper keeps the working credentials intact: a thin, razor-sharp edge in S90V stainless steel that holds its sharpness through hard use, honed from 3mm at the heel to 1.2mm an inch from the tip. It will chop and slice in the kitchen with the best of them. But this knife was styled for the dining room, where the light hits it differently. The handle is synthetic opal, cast in a hexagonal wa form that begins with perfect symmetry at the bolster before tapering with nearly unnoticeable precision into an asymmetrical profile at the rear. Throughout, light shifts between teal, green, and deep cobalt as the angle changes, the kind of color that has no single name and looks different in every room. Bookending the glowing centerpiece are faceted gem bronze forms, each face cut at a different angle, the whole assembly reading like a geometric mineral specimen. The pommel in particular, seen up close, is a small sculpture. At 9.2oz with a blade this long, it moves with authority. A hand-fitted olive wood saya is included, the warm grain a grounding counterpoint to everything the knife is. One of a kind, and impossible to mistake for anything else.
