This course is your gateway to the timeless art of sewing! In this 4-week series, you’ll learn the essential skills needed to confidently operate a sewing machine while building a strong foundation in both craft and creativity. By the end of the series, you'll feel empowered to sew on your own — equipped with knowledge in core techniques like pinning, cutting, using patterns, working with zippers, sewing with different fabrics, and even the basics of garment construction. We’ll begin with an in-depth introduction to the sewing machine, including how to wind a bobbin, thread the machine, and get comfortable using it. From there, you’ll ease into hands-on projects: a simple drawstring bag, a set of zippered pouches, and finally, pajama pants — a fun and practical intro to garment sewing! This class is perfect for anyone who has little to no sewing experience as well as those who have not sewn for years and need a good refresher. Absolutely no prior sewing experience is required!Please note: Fabrics must be purchased prior to the class to ensure you have the appropriate materials for the projects. Please arrive on time for class with your materials. Only the "It's A Cinch" materials will be needed for the first class.
