A lovely little mixed media Sewing Bee created from a vintage wooden cotton reel, handmade honeycomb, needle and felt bee. I made this piece from a vintage Sylko cotton reel, the o riginal label is visible on the top. its a smaller size than a standard Sylko reel. This is hown in the photos. The thread is a lovely warm blue colour described on the label as 'Navy'.The little bee, I hand stitched with thread, felt and wire. The honeycomb is made from painted and varnished paper and filled with honey coloured resin. The piece is completed with a threaded sewing needle.The piece measures 4.2cm high by 3cm wide.
