A lovely little mixed media Sewing Bee created from a vintage wooden cotton reel, handmade honeycomb, needle and felt bee.I made this piece from a vintage Sylko wooden cotton reel, the original label is visible on the top. The thread is a gorgeous warm green colour described on the label as 'Dark Reseda'.The little bee, I hand stitched with thread, felt and wire. The honeycomb is made from painted and varnished paper and filled with honey coloured resin. The piece is completed with a threaded sewing needle.The piece measures 5.5cm high by 3cm wide.
