What We Did Before This Ships Every console we sell is opened up and serviced by hand. We don't just confirm it powers on — we look inside. This unit was fully disassembled and cleaned internally; dust was removed from all components. All boards and electrical contacts were cleaned with ethanol and a fast-drying, residue-free electronics cleaner to remove oxidation and residue. Moving mechanical parts were lubricated with a light application of silicone grease for smooth, quiet operation. (We do not apply grease to electrical contacts — they are cleaned only.) Electrolytic capacitors are replaced only when there is visible corrosion or leakage — nothing more, nothing less. For console families known for capacitor failure, a full recap is performed as standard. If a console cannot be properly restored, we do not sell it. After reassembly, the unit is tested with an actual game: video, sound, and controller input are all confirmed. Before we seal the box, we power the console on one more time and confirm it is still working. Every console includes 30 days of support after it reaches you. A note on power: this console uses Japan's 100V standard. Buyers in North America (120V) are advised to use a step-down transformer or a multi-voltage power supply; buyers in Europe (230V) will require a step-down transformer to use an original 100V adapter safely. In your home: US or Canada — TV: with an AV cable made for this console, plug the yellow/red/white ends into your TV and the picture shows as normal — no converter needed. US or Canada (120V) — power: please don't plug this Japanese 100V equipment straight into the wall. Run it through a 120V→100V step-down transformer (not included). UK, Europe or Australia (230–240V) — power: plugging it straight into the wall will burn it out. Use a 230V→100V step-down transformer (not included). A note on region: This is a Japanese Super Famicom. Its cartridge slot accepts the rounded Japanese/PAL cartridge shape; North American SNES cartridges are physically taller and will not fit without modification. Japanese and PAL software share the same physical format, but use different region-lockout chips (CIC) and are not cross-compatible. If anything here isn't covered, just ask — questions are always welcome. 🎮 Add a game — it travels in the same box as your console. We’re shipping your Super Famicom anyway, so any game you add rides along at no extra shipping cost. Shipping — free to most countries. We ship free on orders of $100 or more, and this is already above that. Two exceptions. Shipping to the United States is $19.90 on every order, because a customs clearance fee is charged when the parcel enters the US. Shipping to Brazil, Chile and Argentina is $49.99 on every order, because shipping to South America costs far more. The exact figure for your address appears at checkout, before you pay. Import duties and taxes. For orders to the United States, we collect them at checkout and pay them for you, so most parcels arrive with nothing further to pay. Everywhere else — including the UK, the EU and the rest of the world — we are not registered to collect your country’s import tax, so it is charged separately when the parcel arrives, together with any handling fee your carrier adds. Rules differ by country and can change, so please check your own customs guidance before you buy. If a carrier ever presents a charge that looks wrong, send us the paperwork and we will look into it with you. It leaves Japan within 1–3 business days of your payment, with a tracking number sent to you by email.
