General Information: These 3D Files were constructed from our popular SG Standard Guitar Plans and 2D CNC files that we have in the plan section of our site. You will find that these files will provide a top level of convenience to customers who possess a CNC router, or access to CNC routing services. The SG Standard files feature (4) different files that break the guitar down into convenient pieces and if you only wish to purchase a body or neck or any other portion listed here, you will be able to do that. Download HERE. All these 3D CNC files are formatted in STL format (Stereolithography). Most 3D CNC controller software should handle this popular formatting. The available files are detailed below: SG Standard Body: This file gives all the 3D information you will need to set up your tool paths for routing the outline of the body, pickup cavities, pot holes, pickup control hole, jack, the neck recess, electronics recesses, wiring channels, and body flairs. SG Standard Neck: This file will give you a smooth 3D file of the neck contour, heel contour, complete peg head contour in the SG Standard tradition, tuner holes and tuner bushing holes, truss rod channel and truss rod adjustment nut access in the head. Also, included with this file are the headpiece overlay plate, with bushing holes, truss rod adjustment nut cutouts and truss rod cover. SG Standard Fretboard: This file will contain the proper fretboard outline perimeter, fretboard radius (12") SG Standard fretboard decoration, MOP cutouts for the fretboard, and fret slots for the proper scale. (.023"; .58mm wide). Also, include with this file are the fretboard MOP inlay objects. They are all separate objects so you can choose to use them or not. SG Standard Pickguard & Back Electronics Cover: his file contains the Pickguard outline and the electronics cover plate on the back of the guitar as well as the pickup switch cover on the top. SG Standard Complete: This option will give you all the above files in one package for a reduced price. Refer to our 3D CNC Faq Sheet for detailed information of these files.
