Staunton chess pieces have been the standard for tournament chess since 1849. These attractive pieces, handcrafted in Poland from hornbeam wood, are packaged in a beautiful wooden box. Each chessman is weighted with metal. King: 3.54" (9cm). Queen: 3.23" (8.2cm). Pawn: 1.69" (4.3cm). The case measures 7.68"W x 3.15"H x 5.04"D (19.5cm x 8cm x 12.8cm) The case is made from beech and birch. Felt bottom chessmen are made from hornbeam. Handcrafted in Poland.
