Give your walls personality. This hand-carved linocut print captures a rugged mountain peak north of Winnemucca in Northern Nevada, in the Bloody Run Hills. This became a familiar view during my stays at Bell Ranch on the other side of US-50. Bill and Belinda hosted me and my little Fiberglas trailer many times, usually for several days in a row. They would drag me a hose and an extension cord and I was in heaven. They've since sold the property and moved north, so I miss the days I'd spend making paintings in one of my favorite landscapes, arriving back each evening just in time for a Nevada-style grilled dinner on the porch of their double-wide, watching the red sunset on the distant mountains while the horses and the mule carried on with indifference. Things in life keep changing, and I must roll with them, but I carry the memories and the visual ideas with me. My prints are drawn, carved and printed entirely by hand, the traditional way. Each print is individually hand-pulled, making every impression slightly unique. The bold lines and natural variations of the linocut process are part of the character of the finished work. Unlike mass-produced reproductions involving commercial inks and modern machines, each color in Shadow Relief is mixed by hand and applied one at a time. Every art lover will see the exquisite quality in this richly colored work of art depicting the late afternoon shadows on a northern Nevada mountain. Printed on 100% cotton Rives BFK paper (prized by printmakers for its permanent qualities), Shadow Relief is made from five hand-carved blocks. It includes conservation framing under glass, and it's ready to ship within 24 hours. Edition size: 100 Image size: 7 1/2" x 7 1/2" Frame: 15 1/2" w x 16 1/4" h
