Shallots are the perfect blend of mild, sweet onion and a hint of garlic. These freeze-dried shallots save time in the kitchen since they are already cut and can be used in place o f fresh. These will reconstitute instantly when added to any recipe containing liquid. To rehydrate separately, simply put them in a sieve and pour water over them briefly.
