We've grown Sharpblue at the nursery for many years. It’s a compact bush reaching about 4 feet, making it ideal for border plantings or close to the house. Introduced by the University of Florida in 1976, this southern-adapted variety is a reliable performer with a long track record. Sharpblue ripens late in the season, often the last variety to bear fruit at our nursery. It produces over a six-week harvest period, with about half the berries ripening in the first few weeks. Berries are dark blue, with excellent flavor and texture. Requires only 150 chill hours, making it well-suited for warm climates. Space plants 4'–6' apart, depending on location and climate. Hardy in zones 7–10.
