Ed Shenk designed this streamer pattern for fly fishing for trout and each year I take some of my largest trout both in the east and in the west on it. The Shenk's White Streamer i s also an outstanding smallmouth bass fly. I fish it below the riffles, in the deep pools for bass and even dress it with dry fly cream and fish it in the tails of the pools at dusk for both bass and trout. I have had large bass come from ten feet away to take this streamer wiggling along the surface as I am fly fishing in low light condition or along vegetation loaded banks.
