The Shepherd Crook has been the staple accessory of herdsman since ancient times. Primarily used as a walking stick for treading uneven ground, the crook features a rounded head co mmonly used for rescuing and corralling livestock. A crook might also have been used to hold a sheep in place while the animal was shorn. The Shepherd Crook was also used as means of protection; the shepherd could easily ward off predators and lead the flock to safety.
