Throwing back to the early 2000s, this CD is from Bruce and Paul's previous band eight, along with original eight members Hamish Jackson (percussion, samples), Chris Cope (Guitar) & Alastair Rogers (bass). Shift was eight’s Independent 4 track EP release.Produced by award winning engineer Malcolm Welsford at his home studio in Auckland. With driving drum 'n bass rhythms, enveloping guitars and powerfully melodic chorus, Shift was a stand out track, capturing the unique sound of eight. The EP also features a remix of Shift by much loved Kiwi icon, Ch-Fu, as well as an enveloping soundscape called J (a long-time favourite track of Paul’s). Released for the New Zealand summer of 2003, Shift underwent a huge transition from its beginnings as an instrumental soundscape on eight's demo album build (1999).
