SHIFT is a fast-paced, highly customizable tabletop roleplaying game specially designed to bring your worlds to life. The SHIFT RPG Core Rulebook contains the core rules of the game, a toolkit for building your own settings, and a selection of ready-to-play mini-settings (called World Sparks) to get you telling fun stories right away. SHIFT is a big grab bag of rules and ideas you can use to tell the type of story you want to tell. It is a system built around dramatic successes and failures— no matter the results of a roll, the world around you changes in an exciting way. Every aspect of SHIFT is powered by the same core building blocks: Traits (the abilities of Characters, monsters, equipment, anything!) and their associated Shift Dice, making the core game rules very easy for anyone to pick up.
