This weaving kit includes all the yarns needed to weave this Shifting Shadows Scarf that was designed by Barbara Mitchell and featured on the cover of Handwoven May/June 2023. The luster of bamboo in the four twill motifs and the three color pairings creates a shifting of light and dark shadows that dance up and down and across the scarf, giving it the appearance of a framed gallery of twills. Skill Level: Experienced — Woven with very fine Bambu 12 yarns, this project requires careful handling and is recommended for experienced weavers. Weave Structure: plain weave and twill with color and weave.Yarns: Bambu 12 in dark truffles, pearl, emperor blue, aruba, borage, cerise, lime, and cyclamen.Equipment needed: 6-shaft loom; 11” weaving width; 12 dent reed; 4 shuttles.Finished Dimensions: Make one scarf 9½ x 69" plus 5" fringe, or choose the two scarf option to weave two scarves on one warp.
