Complete Shimano shift cable sets — inner cables, OT-SP41 outer casing and end caps in one box, in the exact lengths your bike needs. Shift cables are a wear item: hesitant or slug gish shifting is very often a tired cable rather than a derailleur out of tune. Choosing your set Road or MTB — the two are not interchangeable. Road sets are cut for drop-bar routing and come with the sealed caps road shifters expect; MTB sets carry the longer lengths and the rubber shielding a flat-bar bike needs. OPTISLICK or Stainless — both use stainless inner wire. OPTISLICK adds a low-friction polymer coating over the top, which keeps the shift noticeably lighter for longer, particularly on bikes with tight internal routing or long cable runs. Plain stainless is the value option and works perfectly well on simpler routing.
