Navagio Beach, Zakynthos, 2016. Shipwrecked looks down on the cove from above, the white limestone walls falling sheer to electric water, the wreck and the small boats dropped on the sand. Will Salkeld shoots it in colour, the contrast between rock, sea, and small human marks. Will Salkeld is an Australian travel photographer, based in Sydney. He works in colour across coastal, lifestyle, architectural, and urban subjects, gathered on his travels through the Mediterranean, the Americas, Asia, and the Australian coastline. His pictures centre on coastal lifestyle and the way light, geometry, and a place's everyday rhythm hold together in a single frame. Across many different parts of the world, he has a particular eye for people in candid moments, the unguarded seconds that give a place its character. His work sits in the lineage of Slim Aarons, Steve McCurry, and Martin Parr: observational, composed, and lifted by colour. Will prints with High Society Gallery on archival grade paper.
