This Limited Reserve wine is made from low yield and hand-picked fruit from our oldest vines planted in 1973. Vineyard Region: Yarra Valley. Grape Variety: 100% Shiraz Vineyard Planted: 1973 Wine Analysis: Alc/Vol. 14% Harvest Date: March 2017 Bottling Date: August 2019 Total Production: 840 Bottles Bottle Size: 750 mL Standard Winemaking: De-stemmed grapes were put into open fermenting vats. Juice was inoculated with a suitable yeast culture, the cap was hand plunged 3 times daily, with a total maceration time of 12 days. The fermented wine (the Must) was pressed into tanks to undergo malolactic fermentation. Maturation: In 225-litre new and one year old French Oak Barrels, for 24 months. The wine was then blended and clarified prior to bottling. Colour: Deep concentration of colour, with a bright purple hue. Aromas: Dark cherries and plum fruits are surrounded by notes of mocha. Palate: Is elegant with plum and black fruits, rich and highly concentrated with a supple and silky tannins. Peak Drinking: Until 2031. Vigan Friendly Released: November 2022.
