2020 VARNEY WINES SHIRAZ THE VINEYARDS Soured from vineyards planted in the Adelaide Hills and McLaren Vale. Vale Shiraz sourced from blocks in Clarendon, Blewitt Springs, and Whites Valley. Hills Shiraz sourced from Macclesfield. Dual-Regional blend for the heady aromatics and spicy notes which the cooler sites lend while the warmer sites help with structure and midpalate weight. WINEMAKING Cold soaked prior to fermentation with 15% whole bunches included. 17 to 20 days on skins, fermented in custom made headed down open top fermenters. Pressed to seasoned Burgundy coopered barrels for 10 months maturation.
